Rob, love the plugin but using the ref=name bit causes html validation errors, like this-

I am a pure hack when it comes to programming. I have run a few tests and it seems this call isn't detecting the

I just downloaded footnotes file from above (v1.1?) and I am having some problems.

1) When I open the footer.php file it says Version:1.0 2) Using WP 2.0.4 the footer plugin isn't changing the posts. The shows up. (I did check to make sure the plugin was active)

Any ideas?

So how about some options to let us customise the output so that we can easily change “4. ↑5 Oh hello I am a second footnote.” to “4. Oh hello I am a second footnote. »” for example?
