What is it?

Now Reading is a WordPress plugin which allows you to create and maintain a virtual library of books. You can manage a reading list, display your entire library, describe your books with metadata, tags and reviews, and more. Now Reading fetches book information from your country’s Amazon store, so all you need is an ISBN or book title and you’re good to go.

Now Reading also supports many more advanced features, and is flexible and extensible so you can customise it to look and act exactly how you want it to. How Now Reading behaves is limited only by your imagination.

Where can I get it?

Developing Now Reading eats into a rather large chunk of my time; hosting it costs me money, too. For this reason, I make Now Reading available under the honour system: it is valued at $15, and I trust that if you can afford it, and if you enjoy using Now Reading, you won’t mind helping me out with roughly that amount—or more, or less. Of course, you don’t have to pay, but they do call it an “honour” system. You can pay using the donate page.

For development and testing, you can always download the latest builds from the Subversion repository:

If you or your host are still running PHP 4, you’ll have to use Now Reading version 4.4.1. Use this if you get errors like:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: simplexml_load_string() [...]
